Running for over 7 years, our tour operator Jaka is the vice president of the local guiding association, setting the highest standard and being an exemplary member of the community. We have a strong partnership with Care Sumatra, an Australian NGO, who together with Jaka demonstrate the importance of protecting and conserving the Gunung Leuser National Park and provide communities with viable and sustainable alternative employment opportunities.
Sumatra Adventure Holidays is committed to sustainable and responsible eco-tourism, partnering with local businesses to provide stability for the community and preserve the jungle. We are a founding member of the Pack for a Purpose International Program providing communities and schools with necessities and we offer local volunteer programs and reforestation projects on the borders of the Gunung Leuser National Park. We to partner with two active conservation sites on the borders of the Gunung Leuser National Park, Batu Kapal Conservation and Hutan Subur. These initiatives are critical for the survival of the endangered orangutans and other wildlife in the region. We offer volunteer programs at either site as well as luxury jungle accomodation.
